Dr. Donghwan Lee was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. He is a New York–licensed acupuncturist and is nationally board-certified in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, and Oriental Medicine. Dr. Lee is also a licensed practitioner in China.
He has a five-year bachelor’s degree and a three-year master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, the top TCM college in China. He practiced for over 11 years at Dongzhimen Hospital and Guoyitang Hospital, which are both affiliated with the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. His strong academic background and intensive clinical training set him apart as one of the city’s most skilled experts in herbs and acupuncture.
He has completed in-depth studies on constitutional medicine and the treatment of chronic disease under the instruction of Professor Wang Qi, one of the top "TCM Masters" nominated by the Chinese government. His master’s thesis, written on the efficacy of Chinese herbs to treat erectile dysfunction, was published in top Chinese journals.
He received intensive acupuncture training from Professor Huang Jianjun, a well-known Chinese acupuncturist and professor. A deep understanding of TCM theories enables him to select acupoints and apply needles from a holistic approach and further ensure more effective treatments.
